Her Story, His Glory
When Grace Finally Felt Like Home
Scripture
“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
February 2026
I always knew Jesus.
Not in the polite, Sunday-only kind of way—but in the deep-down, He’s always been there kind of way. I felt Him in quiet moments when the world finally slowed, in those gentle nudges in my spirit that whispered, This isn’t the road for you… come back.
But I was stubborn.
I had my own plans, my own map, my own way of doing things.
And honestly? I knew I was saved. I knew grace covered me. I knew He would forgive me when I wandered off the path. So I did. I drifted, took detours, chased things I thought would fill the empty places. I lived like someone who knew the truth—but didn’t always live like it mattered.
Every time He tugged on my heart, I told myself, Just a little longer. I’ve got this. I know what I need.
But Jesus is gentle… and persistent.
There came a day when I was tired of running.
Tired of pretending I was fine.
Tired of carrying things I was never meant to hold.
And right there—in the middle of my mess—I finally laid it all down.
Not halfway.
Not with excuses.
Not with conditions.
Fully.
And the joy that came with that surrender?
It wasn’t loud or flashy.
It was deep. Steady. Safe.
It felt like coming home.
Soon after, I sat in church and listened as God’s Word was read—and for the first time, I wasn’t just hearing it. I was letting it in. Every promise, every truth, every reminder of who He is and who I am in Him settled into my heart like a long-awaited breath.
I wasn’t perfect.
I wasn’t suddenly fixed.
But I was His.
And I finally stopped fighting the hands that had been trying to guide me all along.
That’s what grace does.
It waits.
It calls.
And when you finally surrender… it changes everything.
Reflection
Have you been walking with Jesus… but still holding onto your own map?
Maybe you know He loves you.
Maybe you know His grace is real.
But maybe—just maybe—you’ve been doing things your own way, hoping He’ll bless the path you chose instead of following the one He’s been gently pointing to.
Surrender doesn’t mean giving up who you are.
It means letting God become who leads you.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for Your patient, unending grace. Thank You for never letting me wander too far without calling me back. Help me lay down my plans, my fears, and my stubbornness at Your feet. Teach me to trust You, to follow You, and to rest in the truth that I am fully Yours. Amen.
